Job Description

Attention all events enthusiasts! This nationally recognized, politically center-right-leaning, think tank is seeking an eager, highly organized, and proactive individual for their Events Assistant opening. In this role, you’ll support a wide range of events, from virtual briefings and panel discussions to in-person conferences, lectures, and networking receptions engaging audiences across the country. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the organization’s events calendar, plan, organize, and execute a variety of events nationwide, including virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams to align budgets, timelines, marketing materials, and post-event reporting.
  • Conduct research of potential venues and vendors, serving as a key point of contact communicating with external vendors, venues, and service providers to support successful execution.
  • Support day-of logistics to ensure events run smoothly; occasional travel may be required.
  • Oversee event registration processes, including distribution lists, confirmations, reminders, and attendance tracking.
  • Assist with event logistics such as catering, design, signage, and materials.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling, internal communications, shipping, and invoice processing.
  • Contribute ideas to improve event logistics, efficiency, and execution.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Academic. You currently hold a bachelor’s degree and have a strong interest in government/public policy. Candidates with a degree in Political Science or related fields will stand out! Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA is required.
  • Software savvy. You have excellent computer skills and a minimum of six months to one year of experience in event coordination, project management, or relevant internships.
  • Consistency is key. You are highly organized, meticulous with details, and always seeking ways to improve.
  • Service oriented, solutions oriented. You have exceptional communication skills and are a people person at heart. Being proactive and adaptable in a dynamic environment is one of your strengths!
