Office Manager
Milestone Mill is a new grain mill in the Hudson Valley dedicated to providing high quality flour and other foods to the local community while supporting sustainable farming. We are pursuing an practiced office professional to manage our office on a day-to-day basis, as well as lead the creation of new policies and procedures to guide our team and ensure efficient operations of a new office. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys creating and managing organizational systems and teaching others in how to prosperously implement them. The position is full-time and located in Kingston, New York.
Responsibilities
» supervise and manage all administrative and operational tasks of the office to ensure smooth functioning
»Develop office policies and procedures and teach staff on their use for prosperous implementation
»Design and manage quality control of office-wide electronic and paper filing systems
»Manage all incoming and outgoing mail and packages
»Maintain office supplies inventory and collaborate with the business manager to procure office supplies
»Work with business manager to procure office equipment
»Coordinate maintenance of office equipment, as needed
»Create and manage the budget for office supplies, equipment, and related needs
»Act as a liaison to contracted service providers, such as IT, telephone, internet, printer, and cleaning service providers
»Greet visitors to the office and provide hospitality support for meetings and events, as needed
Qualifications
»Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or demonstrated equivalent on-the-job practice
»At least 4 years’ practice in an office management or administration function
»Advanced proficiency in Sharepoint and MS Office suite
» practice in creating and managing budgets
»Demonstrated expertise in project management, with some project management training preferred
» practice in inventory management of office supplies and coordinating office equipment maintenance
» practice in managing contracts and relationships with vendors
»Excellent communication and interpersonal expertise
»Attention to detail
»Strong organizational and time management expertise
» capability to train others in administrative systems
»Friendly and professional demeanor, sense of humor, and capability to work collaboratively as part of a team
»Interest in sustaincapability and/or food systems, preferred
