Type: 13-Week Travel Contract
Schedule: Night Shift 3x12 | 5:00 PM 5:00 AM
Start Date: May 25, 2026

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Travel Labor & Delivery RN for a high-acuity Women's Services unit handling approximately 200 300 births per month. The RN will provide comprehensive maternal care for laboring patients, high-risk antepartum cases, cesarean recoveries, and obstetrical triage.

This teaching hospital environment requires strong fetal monitoring skills, high-risk OB experience, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced labor and delivery settings. Candidates should be comfortable managing obstetrical emergencies, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and supporting C-section procedures and recoveries.

First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment.

Travelers must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to laboring and antepartum patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
• Perform obstetrical triage and patient assessments
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and emergency OB situations
• Circulate and recover C-section patients
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and fetal monitoring interventions
• Utilize IUPC placement and calibration during labor management
• Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and anticoagulants
• Maintain IV access and central line care when needed
• Support patient safety and infection prevention protocols
• Document patient care accurately within EMR systems
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, NICU, and interdisciplinary teams during deliveries and emergencies

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Traveler must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• Experience with high-risk antepartum and Labor & Delivery required
• Fetal monitoring experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Strong C-section circulating and recovery experience preferred
• Night shift assignment with no guaranteed block scheduling

Qualifications Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Experience in high-risk OB and antepartum care required
• Experience with fetal monitoring and obstetrical triage required
• Experience circulating and recovering C-section patients preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

License:

• Active RN License
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NRP required
• AWHONN Intermediate required
• FHM required
