Join our PICU-CVICU at Banner Children’s Hospital at Desert and be part of our amazing team of professionals. Our state-of-the-art Level 1 Trauma Facility and Pediatric ICU specializes in providing the highest levels of care to patients with diverse medical and surgical needs. Our Pediatric Intensive Care unit consists of 24 beds and comprises CVICU along with other highly complex patient populations. We have a family centered care model with an interdisciplinary team approach. Our care includes 24-hour Pediatric Intensivist coverage, and dedicated Respiratory Therapists, Nutritionists, Case Management, Social Services, PT/OT and Pharmacists.
As a Registered Nurse in Pediatric Intensive Care, you will have the opportunity to care for pediatric patients spanning from neonate to adult with a diverse range of acuity, and illness. We care for patients with complex congenital heart, pulmonary, neurosurgical, renal, post-surgical and traumatic injuries and disease processes. Our dedicated Registered Nurses are actively involved in department shared leadership, quality/safety and process improvement teams.
We currently have a full time Day shift position. Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
9.Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
