Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team in Columbia, SC. In this role, you’ll support the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of sheet metal systems on a variety of commercial and industrial job sites. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision work, follows safety protocols, and contributes positively to a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, and maintain sheet metal systems for commercial and industrial projects
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
• Safely operate hand and power tools to cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal
• Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, building codes, and company quality standards
• Coordinate with project managers and crew members to meet project timelines
• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in commercial or industrial construction
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Familiarity with HVAC and mechanical systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and effective problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• OSHA certification preferred
