The primary purpose of this position is to perform as a State of Georgia certified Water Plant Operator and exercise shift responsibility over subordinate employees in accomplishing the operation, overhaul, and maintenance of the Water Treatment Facility and Swimming Pools and all equipment used in conjunction with the Water Treatment operation. Requirements: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain a Security clearance Recruitment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): 1. Knowledge of wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of water and swimming pool treatment. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices. and procedures. 3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to the trade. 4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications. Other significant facts pertaining to the position: 1. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. A valid state driver's license is required. 2. As required, may train and/or guide personnel in performance of duties. 3. Required to obtain job-related certifications. 4. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Determination: The actual work performed in this position has been reviewed and determined that it does not meet any of the exemption criteria defined in 5 CFR 55 I; therefore this position has been designated as nonexempt. 5.
