Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Reports directly to Engineering Manager or reports to Production Supervisor.
- Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment.
- Controls and adjusts machine settings.
- Responsibilities include production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation.
- Perform mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection, and monitoring of production and/or facilities related equipment and machinery.
- Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks.
- Prioritizes daily work assignments to meet production needs and department goals.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance scheduling, completion of work orders and tasks as assigned.
- Supports installation and removal of equipment, and performance of required corrective maintenance.
- Consistent presence in production departments. Monitors the production lines and proactively evaluates equipment performance for repairs and continuous improvement.
- Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude to complete changeover of equipment and some operator level preventive maintenance.
- Assist with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions.
- Checks work using prescribed gauges, jig, and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
Experience Required
- High School Diploma or GED & Certificate and 2 years of experience in relevant field
- High School Diploma or GED with 4 years relevant experience required.
- Must have experience working on Circuit/Electronic boards and hydraulics.
- Troubleshooting of Industrial Control Systems (instrumentation, ladder logic, relay logic, vfd, servo etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of PLC operations, robotics, and vision systems.
- Mechanical design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
- SAP maintenance module or equivalent computerized system (welding)
- Basic skills in use of mill, lathe, welding, bearing press.
Skills & Certifications
- Time management skills required to ensure all tasks are completed without delay.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams.
- Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Flexible and adaptable in working with/on a variety of equipment, processes, projects, or assignments.
- Understanding and use of trades mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments essential.
- Constant mental and visual attention performing moderately complex work requiring close limits of accuracy and tolerance.
Must be knowledgeable in the following areas.
- Use of a PC including MS Excel & MSWord.
- Demonstrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics aptitude.
- Ability to use multimeter.
- Sensor technology
- Basic plumbing (fluid and pneumatic)
- Power transmission (gear box, motors, belt, and chain drives).
Eligibilities & qualifications
- Relevant Fields: Electrical / Electronics Technician, Electromechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Industrial Programmer, Electrician, Machine Builder / Repairer, Machinist, Refrigeration Mechanic, Welding Repairer.
- Must have awareness of FDA and ISO regulations.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
